Union Of Two
"Sleepers" is a series of photographs that caught my eye. The beauty of sleep and body language. Nora Herting explained, "In sleep the mind is unconscious yet the body remains sentient." She continues, "The bed is the site of both sexual pleasure and rest. Despite the warm and tender feelings associated with sleeping with another person, each person enters unconsciousness alone. By changing context and by forcing the union of two disparate images I invite a narrative of romantic and sexual disconnection and tension." All images are archival photographs at 54" x 72" wide, the exact size of a full bed.
