Formula For Success

Warm colors and complimentary hues, high contrasting values of light and shadow, depth of perspective, character design. All are elements in the formula for illustration success. Félix Girard's work is vivid and stylistically captivating, but still lets your imagination tell the story. Growing up in a family of artists from Quebec City, Canada, I was surprised to learn that Félix is mostly self-taught, learning basics of drawing and painting from his parents who are also painters. Renaissance painters like Hieronymus Bosch, Albrecht Dürer,
Félix's inspiration.

In May 2007, Félix exhibited his work for the first time, selling most of his painting in matter of hours. At 20 years of age, he is currently spending time in Europe under the financial support of a sponsor. He hopes to gain artistic experience through the study of architecture and people watching, as he continues to work on commission. Félix Girard paints with acrylic on watercolor paper fixed on masonite panel. With his talent, I cannot wait to see the progress of his work. He is definitely an artist to follow.
