Striking Loneliness

Levi Wedel captured my attention with this series of work.  He explained, "Structures dominate and overshadow the natural landscape they are forged from, vegetation is absent apart from that which is humanly sanctioned and controlled, and even the light is completely artificial."  He continued, "This autonomous landscape was constructed to facilitate comfortable and safe living, but during the night, in its most artificial and successfully self-sufficient state, there is ironically a striking loneliness."

Levi Wedel has a background in computer science but currently working on his MFA in photography at the University of Calgary.
