Simplicity At Best

I have mentioned in the past for my admiration in multi-layering effect in art. As much as I am a big fan of their style, this is a version of simplicity where minimalist artist, William Steiger captured my heart. Although his work look like vector art, William strips the clutter and simplified the scenario, then hand painted his work with high contrasting flat colors with precision. His work is very tranquil and serene. It is so simple, it's beautiful.

William Steiger graduated with a MFA from Yale University. He is currently working on a monograph about his work and has several upcoming exhibition, including Atlanta and Seoul, Korea. You could view his work at Margaret Thatcher Projects in New York as part of a group exhibition which ends August 28.
